Verge Project

What is 5031 Native Verge Project?

The West Torrens Community of Adelaide includes a number of special people. We have been showcasing some particularly outstanding local businesses over the last couple of weeks, and now we would like to introduce you to a project that is doing some excellent work within the community.

The 5031 Native verge Project was created by community members with the intention to bring back biodiversity into the suburb, by planting local native plants on street verges. The project has been funded by Green Adelaide and has been generously and enthusiastically supported by locals and business owners alike. The local natives have been generously supplied by Provenance Indigenous Plants based in Salisbury. They’re a hard-working nursery committed to the conservation and restoration of our unique indigenous flora.

How are we involved?

We have been involved by providing a verge at Loveon Cafe and volunteering time and energy to help Camile bring the plants down from Provenance. Our team is providing time and energy to help make this dream a reality.

Living Jute would like to respectfully acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional lands of the Kaurna People, whose sovereignty was never ceded. We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region. Their heritage and cultural beliefs hold the same importance today, and every day.
